According to the information of Quang Yen town, it is estimated that “Down the field” festival will take place on 13 and 14 July, at Coc village, Phong Coc ward (Quang Yen town).

The festival will have many special activities such as a swimming competition at Cua Dinh river, performance exchange, a farming contest, exhibiting news photos… The annual event is held in a scale of 5 wards including Phong Coc, Yen Hai, Phong Hai, Lien Hoa and Ha An. In particular, Quang Yen town is going to organize a ceremony of receiving national intangible cultural heritage of “Down the field” festival.

This time, Phong Coc ward is positively deploying a preparation of the festival according to the plan. In which, the local is focusing on set up festive Organizing Committee, clean out swimming flows and the farming area where the competitions happen, along with arranging logistic works to serve the festival.

“Down the field” festival has been formed a long time ago in the normal life of Ha Nam island’s people, annually organized on the occasion that people step in the first phase of the rice crop, showing humanity grateful to the gods of agriculture and the village citadel, praying for the gods to bless the good harvest.
