The last 3 months of the year is the time of MICE (meeting, invention, convention, event) tourism attracting tourists to Quang Ninh on autumn-winter occasions.  With synchronous infrastructures, high-class service quality and a string of appealing sport, tourism and culture events are opportunities for the tourism industry completing its goal welcoming 19 million tourist arrivals in 2024.

On 4th to 10th November, national job education conference 2024 was held in Ha Long city. It included around 3000 participants in which there were 462 teachers who came from 266 job education units in the whole country. It was also considered an ideal chance of attendees visiting the majestic beauty of Ha Long Bay world heritage wonder. 

In the framework of the event, over 20 teachers and students from Ben Tre province has a trip going to the Ha Long Bay and marked memorable moments. “This is the first time I visit Ha Long Bay and I’m very impressive with the beauty here, especially astonishing caves. In addition, professional  service qualities made us extremely satisfied”. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lai, an official of Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said. 

In recent years, many travel agencies choosed Quang Ninh as a destination of MICE tourism because of its synchronous tourism infrastructures with roughly 20.000 rooms of 1.380 accommodations, along with 32 routes and 78 tourist attractions… Moreover, MICE tourism is a kind of product that bears a high profit and Quang Ninh’s travel enteprises strongly connect and take care of it. Mr. Huynh Hong Loi, Vice General Manager of Legacy Yen Tu resort said: “To grip MICE tourists, we erected gala dinner packs with the price of around 850.000VND per guest, prepared for many spaces organizing seminars, conferences and a largest room has a capacity of about 100.000 people. Otherwise, the cuisine, sound and light services are always ready.”

Not only hotels, but also locals pay attention to the tourism form. Mong Cai city is a typical locality which is widely exploiting the potential of travel infrastructure appealing to MICE guests. Ms, Nguyen Thu Huong, Vice Chairman of Mong Cai People’s Committee argued that there are nearly 200 accommodations with around 4000 rooms with diversified shopping points, restaurants and entertainment services in the city. Besides, having 20 tennis courts, swimming pools and 18 hole golf course of Tra Co ward are a remarkable advantage serving MICE travelers. She also showed that the city is vigorously pushing media activities and promoting the Mong Cai travel’s image, turning it into a destination of MICE tourism.

Quang Ninh Department of Tourism claimed that provincial destinations welcomed over 16.7 million tourist arrivals, which increased 20% over the same period, in which there were roughly 3 million foreign tourist arrivals. Quang Ninh will hold a sequence of vibrant events such as Korea-Vietnam music festival (on November); activities celebrated 30 years Ha Long Bay recognized as a world heritage (on December); fall autumn in Uong Bi; Asia police Taekwondo contest Open (December) to hold travelers to Quang Ninh, particularly MICE visitors. At the same time, it will diversify tourism produces; seeking, calling to organize some sport competitions such as Marathon, pickleball, chess…

In the upcoming time, the units proposed that Quang Ninh have to ramp-up its competitive possibility with the other destinations by developing new and appealing tourism products. By the way, positively learning other localities’ experiences to fulfill the ways of welcoming many kinds of tourists. On the other hand, continuously giving stimulated policies and programs, especially in the last year phase to attract domestic and international guests to Quang Ninh.
