Cai Chien Island Commune has untouched beauty
Cai Chien has 3 beaches with untouched beauty, namely Cai Chien Beach, Vung Bau Beach, and Dau Rong (Dragon Head) Beach. Sky-high casuarinas line up embracing the beaches. In addition, the area is famous for abundant and fresh seafood.
Following the success of projects bringing national power grid to island commune, Quang Ninh provine continued the implementation of the first phase of providing electricity to Tran Island (Co To District) and Cai Chien Island (Hai Ha District) with total investment capital of nearly 200 billion VND. As a result, in April 2016, national power grid arrived to Cai Chien Island.
Mr. Tran Van Tang, the owner of Thanh Tang Guest House, in Cai Chien Hamlet, Cai Chien Commune, said “Right after the power grid came to my hometown, my family decided to upgrade our guest house and offered more dining and entertainment services. During tourist season, our rooms are always full, thus a good source of income”.

Also in 2016, Hai Ha District announced the 1/2,000-scale planning for the island commune. Accordingly, the centre of Cai Chien Island belongs to Mong Cai Border Economic Zone with total area of 180ha. In June 2019, Cai Chien Tourist Area was recognized as a provincial tourist site, creating a foundation for tourism in the commune to fly high, changing the commune’s look, and attracting more investors.
Besides, a series of infrastructure projects have been invested and put into operation to meet local people’s demand, for example, the construction of an inter-road on Cai Chien Island is being hastened to be completed this year. Such projects creates a basis to attract investment.
Over the last years, Cai Chien becomes a magnet to investors, including 5-star Dau Rong Tourism, Service, and Entertainment Area by Lam Ngoc Duong Imports and Export Com.Ltd. The 578 billion VND-invested project covers an area of 20.1 ha.
In the future, the island commune plans to attract more investment into tourism development with the purpose that tourism accounts for 61.35% of economic structure by 2025.
